F-ENDORSEMENT LICENCE

This qualifies you to drive a registered and warranted forklift on the road.

A road is defined as “an area principally used for vehicle or pedestrian traffic, which the general public have access to, whether as of right or not” – this includes, but is not limited to, a customer carpark, internal road, New Zealand roads, footpaths, driveways.

Prerequisites:

• Hold a current New Zealand Full Drivers Licence Class 1 if driving a forklift with a Gross Laden Weight of LESS than 18,000kg
• Hold a current New Zealand Full Drivers Licence Class 2 if driving a forklift with a Gross Laden Weight of EXCEEDING 18,000kg

F-Endorsement Course

Consists of 1 hour theory, followed by a Theory Test. On passing the theory a 10-15 minute Practical Assessment is completed on a simulated road. The Unit Standard 18496 is automatically registered by us against the students Record of Learning (RoL) with the New Zealand Qualification Authority (NZQA) as part of protocol (refer NZQA Units). An Endorsement Certificate is issued for the student to take in to a New Zealand Land Transport Agency to update their Drivers Licence.

A road is essentially an area principally used for vehicle or pedestrian traffic, which the general public uses as a thoroughfare to gain access to another place. In practice this will generally be areas and thoroughfares that the general public use and expect to be able to use such as a road, street or supermarket carpark.

• A street;
• A motorway;
• A beach;
• A place to which the public have access, whether as of a right or not;
• All bridges, culverts, ferries and fords forming part of a road or street or motorway;
• All sites at which vehicles may be weighed for the purposes of the Act or any other enactment

• Physical barriers eg gates or barrier arms;
• Security checks eg guard or controlled barriers;
• Signs limiting who may enter or conditions under which access is permitted.
